Mayumi is the recipient of three RHS Gold Medals.  Paintings in watercolour on paper, particularly medicinal plants and magnolias in recent years. She exhibited at the RHS Botanical Art & Photography Show in 2025 with her Magnolia series, winning a Gold Medal and The Best Botanical Art Exhibit. Her work is in The Highgrove Florilegium; Transylvania Florilegium; Hunt Institute; Flora Japonica; Sydney Botanic Gardens Florilegium; Iris Florilegium of Sir Cedric Morris; Illustrated College Herbal at the Royal College of Physicians where she was Artist in Residence 2010-2011.  She is also a contributor for Curtis' Botanical Magazine.
