Julia is passionate about botanical art - painting, exhibiting and teaching. She particularly enjoys celebrating less-than-perfect specimens - Fading flowers, autumnal leaves and seedheads, often depicting them larger-than-life. She has been awarded many medals for her work and has exhibited all around the world, with work in collections including the Shirley Sherwood Collection and the Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh. She teaches regularly in her home city of Bath and leads workshops around the world, both in-person and online. Since the Pandemic, Julia has hosted online webinars once or twice a month, in which leading botanical artists talk about their botanical art passions and projects.
